“I first started painting on glass in 1986 with David Hopper at Pilchuck Glass School. I was immediately drawn to the hands-on immediacy of the process. I approach the glass vessel as a 360 degree canvas that holds a multi-dimensional surface within the wall. As I paint I imagine how the image will begin to stretch like silly putty once I begin the process of blowing and sculpting the glass.”
